Nepali Story - Sarita in a small village
Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Sarita in a small village in Nepal. His village was surrounded by green forests, flowing rivers and white mountains. Sarita used to live with her parents, and she went to shepherd every morning.
To the west of the village was an old temple, built years ago. People believed the temple to be miraculous. It is said that there was a magic bell inside the temple, which when rung would grant any wish. However, to reach that bell, courage, integrity and faith had to be tested.
Sarita used to be excited to hear about that bell since childhood. One day, she decided to ring the bell. That morning, after reminding her parents, she went to the temple. To reach the temple, he had to cross a dense forest.
There were many challenges in the jungle. At one place an eagle stopped him and asked, "What are you going to do here?" Sarita replied, "I want to ring the bell." "Answer me one question if you want to ring the bell," said the eagle. Sarita eagerly prepared to answer. The eagle asked, "What is the most valuable thing in the world?" Sarita thought for a moment and said, "Faith." The eagle accepted his answer and the way was opened.
Then, she crossed huge cliffs, rapid rivers and rapids. Finally she reached the temple. On entering the temple, she saw that the bell was made of gold and had intricate carvings around it. To reach the bell, he needed to overcome his fears and doubts. She closed her eyes and rang the bell with faith in her heart.
The whole area echoed with the sound of the bell. When she opened her eyes, she realized that her wish had come true. But that wish was not for material wealth, but for spiritual peace.
From that day on, Sarita became an inspiration to everyone in the village. She taught everyone that with true courage, faith and hard work one can overcome all difficulties in life.
